What should our economic future look like?

A major aim of Our Economy is to develop a broadly-shared vision for Southwest NH’s economic future. Grab your magic wand. Looking five, ten, or twenty years into the future, what would you like to see? What aspects of the regional economy should we seek to protect and which should we act to change? Vision development isn’t a matter of idle daydreaming. The issues we face—a housing shortage, an aging workforce, extreme weather, and more—aren’t small. We’ll need to think big in order to rise to the challenge.

A vision with broad buy-in can also serve as a call to action for regional collaboration on economic development issues. Southwest NH is a relatively small, rural region. In order to remain competitive within an unforgiving national and global economic context, we need to band together. We’ll be more successful working together than trying to go it alone.

Vision development is expected to begin in the winter of 2022 and will incorporate input from a wide array of regional stakeholders. If you’d like to be a part of this process, please get in touch with the project team.
